Lakes
In summer, our lakes invite bathers for a refreshing swim. Only two minutes on foot from the Hotel Müller lies the wonderful Alpsee with its clear, cool water. Also worth recommending is a walk around the Alpsee (approximately 2 hours). In the former Castle grounds, around 20 minutes on foot from the Hotel Müller, is the somewhat smaller Schwanse. Its water is not as cold as the Alpsee`s and a walk around its edge takes only about 30 minutes.
Also nearby to Schwangau are the two lakes, Banwaldsee and Forgensee, around which it is possible, in summer, to take a boat trip. Other possibilities are to take a stroll around the Weißensee or hire a pedal boat on the Hopfensee.
Mountain Cable Cars
For mountain walkers, the area surrounding the Hotel Müller is ideal. Footpaths, cable cars or chair lifts lead to the Tegelberg, 2 km away, the Buchenberg in Buching 10 km away or the Breitenberg in Pfronten around 15 km away.
Mountain Climbing
Leading directly from the Hotel Müller is the footpath to the Säuling (2047m), only for experienced Mountaineers appropriately equiped.
Walking
For a less demanding excursion we recommend the walk to the former royal Jagdhütte (Hunting Lodge) 'Bleckenau' or to the Drehütte mountain hut. Both ways are also suitable in winter for tobogganing. In Summer
Other activities available in the area are golf, tennis and cycling using the extensive network of cycle ways.In Winter
The coming of winter does not mean that you have to give up sport-orientated activities. When snow conditions permit, there are many cross-country ski-ing tracks and the surrounding mountains provide challenges for alpine skiers.
Kutschfahrten
Trips with the horse carriage, for wildlife feeding, are offered in Schwangau.
Royal Kristalltherme (Thermal Baths)
For relaxation of the body and spirit you can pamper yourself at the »Königliche Kristalltherme« in Schwangau (circa 2 km).
